Hospital Getaway

My father-in-law went in for surgery to correct a problem with aneurysms in his upper thigh and legs. The surgery was successful. Yet, his recovery has been difficult. The doctors cannot stop post-op bleeding since the procedure a little more than a week ago. Bedside Manner Sponsored by NASCAR...Our Terms of Endearment...One More Day

Rage Against the Dying of the Light?

Our family huddled in the pew to brace ourselves from the cold slaps the January breeze delivered each time the entry door opened behind us. From my seat on the end, I looked down the aisle and scanned the room.

The chapel overflowed with strangers, dressed in dark suits and black dresses with overcoats tucked between them or stashed under seats, bound together in silent sorrow.

It’s Not Me. It’s You.

The Break Up

My words are slow. I'm no good at this.

Listen, you have been a been a part of my life since I can remember. Countless are the times times you've been with me when I needed you - always within arm's reach.

When I wake up, you are there. A tough day at the office, you are there. When friends or family want to talk though their issues, you support me.

You are strong...very strong.

Your scent brings me life. Your flavorful, exotic body is temptation personified. Dark, bold, and smooth, the taste of you lingers on my lips and carries me through the day's drudgery.

It's Not Me. It's You.
